The Regular Meeting of Mayor and Council was held on August 18, 2015, in the Blue Springs City Hall, Blue Springs, NE.
PRESENT: Mayor Meyer, Council members Carmichael, Mewes, Neumann
ABSENT; Council Member Reedy
OTHER ATTENDEES: Employee Mike Pike, Connie Mewes, Officer Dick Monfelt ( who asked if there were any concerns. None were reported.) , Tim and Hope Brown
Notice of the meeting/hearing was given in advance by posting in at least three public places as shown by the certificate of posting placed on file. Notice of the hearing/meeting was simultaneously given to the Mayor and all members of the City Council and a copy of their acknowledgment of receipt and agenda are placed on file. Availability of the agenda was communicated in the advance notice and in the advance notice to the Mayor and City Council of the hearing/meeting. Proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened hearing/meeting was open to public attendance.
At 7:30 PM, Mayor Meyer called the Regular meeting to order and roll call was taken.
Motion, second and vote to approve as sent the August 4, 2015 Regular meeting minutes: Mewes, Neumann, 3-0 affirmative.
After review: Motion, second and vote ( Neumann, Carmichael, 3-0 affirmative) to approve claims as follow: Bank-Direct Payment: NE Dept. of Revenue (#10) - 297.94; Salaries: (Running) - $1,993.70; Black Hills Energy - $21.37; Circle D Mfg. - $31.25; Dustin Dean (Meter Dep. Ref.) - $95.61; Eakes Office Supply - $32.45; Farmer’s Cooperative - $78.92; League of NE Municipalities (Membership) - $224.00; NE Rural Water Association - (GPS Mapping - Water/Sewer) - $2,310.98; Gary Neumann (Tractor Show Reimb.) - $181.81; Milton Pike (Water Sample Mailing Reimb.) - $16.95; Postmaster - $168.00; G. ANNUAL KENO OPERATOR AGREEMENT (SIGNATURES ONLY): Mayor Meyer signed the agreement. Ruby Morris will be asked to come in to sign.
ANNUAL CELEBRATION: CAR/TRACTOR SHOW, OUTCOME, SUMMARY: Tabled until all expense vouchers are submitted, and award results are compiled for public record.
PLANNING & ZONING: No new applications.
CLEAN UP: Employee Pike reported on properties being posted/ mowed by the City, with one new property added. Review continues of clean-up at a demolition site . One property was removed from the list due to resolution of issues. Two courtesy letters with Sept 1 deadline - for tall weeds - were determined.
