The Regular Meeting of Mayor and Council was held on September 15, 2015, in the Blue Springs City Hall, Blue Springs, NE.


PRESENT: Mayor Meyer, Council members Carmichael, Mewes, Neumann


ABSENT; Council Member Reedy


OTHER ATTENDEES: Employee Mike Pike, Connie Mewes, Rhonda Mewes & minor, Gladys Cary, Tim & Hope Brown,


Notice of the meeting/hearing was given in advance by posting in at least three public places as shown by the certificate of posting placed on file. Notice of the hearing/meeting was simultaneously given to the Mayor and all members of the City Council and a copy of their acknowledgment of receipt and agenda are placed on file. Availability of the agenda was communicated in the advance notice and in the advance notice to the Mayor and City Council of the hearing/meeting. Proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened hearing/meeting was open to public attendance.


At 7:30 PM, Mayor Meyer called the Regular meeting to order and roll call was taken.


Motion, second and vote to approve as sent the Sept. 1st - 2015-2016 Budget Hearing and Regular meeting minutes: Mewes, Carmichael, 3-0 affirmative.


After review: Motion, second and vote (Neumann, Mewes, 3-0 affirmative) to approve claims as follow: Bank-Direct - NE Dept. of Revenue (#10) - $259.33; Salaries - $1,859.78; Abbott Portable Toilets - (Municipal Publicity) - $200.00; Black Hills Energy - $23.32; Blue River Area Agency on Aging (Match Funds) - $625.00; KUTT - (Municipal Publicity) - $988.00; KWBE- (Municipal Publicity) - $504.00; Lincoln Journal Star - (Municipal Publicity) - $234.70; More Than Games - (Municipal Publicity) - $760.00; Morris Used Cars - $169.72; NE Waste Reduction & Recycling - (#94) - $25.00; One-Call Concepts - $7.75; Milton Pike (Postage Reimb. - Water Samples) - $16.95; Postmaster - $168.00; Security First Bank (Pike - IRA) - $55.00; Willet & Carothers - $370.00; Windstream - $70.33; Wymore Lumber - $130.96; TOTAL CLAIMS: $6,467.84 (plus) Blue Springs Keno Proceeds Account to Blue Springs Keno $1,293.63.


ANNUAL CELEBRATION: CAR/TRACTOR SHOW, OUTCOME, SUMMARY: (Approved Budget - $5,000 --- Income -- (Entry Fees - 1,280.00) --- Roy Lauby Donation - $50.00 --- T-Shirt Sales - $37.40 -- Giveaway Checks - (Wymore Fert./Ron’s Body Shop) - $85.00 --------Less : Expense ---- Giveaway items - $85.00; Radio Advertising - $1,492.00; Newspaper Advertising/and/flyers - $549.44 - Postage for Mailings - $117.00 -- Trophies - $1,453.70; Portable Toilets - $200.00 -- Kid’s Games - $760.00 -- Reimbursable (Neumann) - $181.81 and (Reedy) $700.00 - Equals End Cost of $4086.55 to City.) Members described the event as a “great success.” Mayor Meyer expressed gratitude to all planners, promoters, facilitators, vendors, service and goods providers, donators, and a impressive volunteer force. Everyone gave so generously of their time, abilities, and personal assets. As an impressive cohesive unit rather than individually, so as not to risk oversight, the workforce was acknowledged, congratulated, and thanked.

CLEAN UP: No additions to, no deletions from the current list.
