The Regular Meeting of Mayor and Council of Blue Springs, Nebraska, was held starting at 7 PM, June 4, 2024, at the Blue Springs City Hall.
Mayor Meyer called the meeting to order, and roll call was taken.
PRESENT: Mayor Meyer, Council members Neumann, Reedy, Riensche
ABSENT: Council member Sedlacek
OTHERS PRESENT: Employee Mike Pike, Deb Dorn, Devin Dorn, Steve Borgman
Notice of the Hearing/meeting was given in advance by posting in at least three public places as shown by the certificate of posting placed on file. Notice of the hearing/meeting was simultaneously given to the Mayor and all members of the City Council and a copy of their acknowledgment of receipt and agenda are placed on file. Availability of the agenda was communicated in the advance notice and in the advance notice to the Mayor and City Council of the hearing/meeting.
Motion (Riensche), second (Neumann), 3-0 affirmative vote to approve the minutes of the May 21, 2024 Regular meeting.
Motion (Neumann), second (Riensche), 3-0 affirmative vote to approve claims as follow: Bank Direct . Internal Revenue (941) - $2,570.32; Payroll - $7,588.51; Abbott Portable Toilets (Park) - $125.00; Blobaum & Busboom (Examination of Financial Records) - $4,500.00; Blue Springs Rural Fire Dept (Annual Taxes) - $2,900.00; Blue Springs Cemetery (Annual Taxes) - $2,800.00; Fairbury Journal - News - $59.91; NE Dept. of Revenue (501N) - $379.00; NE Rural Water Association (Membership)_-$200.00; Nebraska U.C. Fund - $34.71; Milton Pike - (Tel. Comp.) - $25.00; Milton Pike (Postage Reimb.- Water Sample) - $30.95; Postmaster (Stamps) - $242.00; Security First Bank - (Pike/IRA) - $55.00; Temps Disposal Service (Mandatory) - $2,627.00; Milford Woutzke (Tel. PLANNING & ZONING - APPLICATION FOR BUILDING PERMITS (as submitted): No new applications.
DEMOLITION PROJECT: Update of current locations, including asbestos testing and “controlled burn vs. conventional demolition” information was provided by Carothers by email, which is attached to the office copy of the minutes and available for review.
CLEAN-UP/VEHICLES: Update of current situations, including Court date of June 18th for two, progress reports, and planned nuisance notices was provided by Carothers by email, which is attached to the office copy of the minutes and available for review.
CRACK SEALING BIDS: No bids yet received.
PAPA B’S (BORGMAN) VACATING A PORTION OF THE ALLEY, EASEMENT: Carothers indicated in email that he would proceed with paperwork when so advised. Members were in agreement for the process to begin and reaffirmed that decision with a motion (Reedy), second (Riensche) and a 3-0 affirmative vote.

There being no further business, a motion was made by Neumann at 7:20 PM to adjourn.
The minutes of the Regular meeting were read and approved June 18, 2024.
